MCF is Michigan Colleges Alliance
Same excellent colleges, a new collective name
Michigan Colleges Foundation has a new name – Michigan Colleges Alliance. In recognition of our expanding collective work in recent years, the MCA Board of Trustees has made a historic decision to change the name of our 64-year old organization to better reflect and communicate these efforts.
In the coming weeks, you will see changes to our website and marketing materials; however, our 14 excellent colleges and universities are still the same – as is our deepest gratitude to all of you who have enabled our success. This longstanding alliance, today representing some 35,000 students (the state’s “third largest university”), is responding to Michigan’s call for work-ready, young talent and broad participation in our state’s economic progress. Thanks to your generous gifts, deserving Michigan students are able to attend our member schools, and many new initiatives have been forged to support the development and retention of inspired and motivated graduates.
Across Michigan, employers are taking advantage of the new Concierge Career Connection initiative to support talent acquisition goals, and embracing collaborative opportunities with our campus leaders at events such as the annual Mackinac Roundtable on Talent. A new Certification in Professional Ethics for students is in place – helping to ensure that our graduates are equipped with skills to become ethical leaders in all fields. And innovative programs for urban youth are at work in Detroit, Southwest Michigan, and Grand Rapids, creating pathways to college readiness and access.
The newly named Michigan Colleges Alliance values greatly your past involvement and support of our campus network. We look forward to your continued partnership. Please visit our website to learn more about our ongoing efforts and their impact.
